Constitution
1. Name: The Club shall be called ‘The Enford Camera Club’
2. Objectives: The objectives of the Club are to form a meeting place where members can be stimulated and encouraged in the art and science of photography and to create an enjoyable environment where we can learn photographic techniques and skills from each other. The primary interest of the Club shall be in still photography.
3. Membership: Any person interested in photography who agrees actively to support the Club’s objectives may apply to the Secretary for membership. The Club reserves the right to refuse membership and/or expel any member for conduct detrimental to the Club. The Committee shall deal with all such matters. Members under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
4. Subscriptions: To encourage the policy of inclusiveness, there shall be no club entrance fee. Monthly subscriptions shall be kept to a minimum to cover running costs and hall hire etc. Any income in excess of the running costs will be put towards the purchase of club equipment or activities. Any group purchases over and above general running costs will be agreed amongst the officers and members of the club during monthly meetings or, if necessary at the annual general meeting. If desired, members can choose to pay subscriptions on an annual or 6-monthly basis, although this will not confer any advantageous membership benefits.
5. Organisation: The Officers of the Club shall consist of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and such Assistant Officers as may from time to time be decided. All shall be elected each year at the Annual General Meeting. The Officers should lead the Club and control its weekly activities, but the whole membership must feel involved so that all major decisions should be made by the club members together at the Annual General Meeting or any Exceptional General Meeting.
6. Management: The affairs of the Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the officers above and up to three elected members. Three persons constitute a quorum.
7. Annual General Meeting: The A.G.M. of the Club shall be held during the month of September each year. The Business shall include: Minutes of the previous A.G.M., Annual report of the Committee, Statements of Accounts and Balance Sheet, Election of Officers. The Committee should ensure that suitable nominations for Chairman and Officers are included in the notice for the Annual General Meeting. Any member who wishes to make additional nominations or proposals must do so to the secretary at least seven days before the meeting.
8. Constitution: A copy of the Constitution shall be supplied to every member of the Club. No alteration to the constitution shall be made except at an Annual or Exceptional General Meeting.
9. Dissolution: The Club may be dissolved only by the consent of three-fourths of the members present at an Exceptional General Meeting called for that purpose. Such a meeting shall appoint a Liquidator and decide on the disposal of all Club funds and assets. After discharging all debts and liabilities of the Enford Camera Club, the remaining assets are to be given or transferred to the trustees of Enford Village Hall.
